James H. Davis was elected to serve as a Jupiter Inlet District Commissioner for District 5 in 2021.  His professional career in the financial services sector as Managing Director of Wealth Management Domestic Operations with JPMorgan Chase spans more than 40 years.  He currently works as a substitute teacher at Renaissance Charter School at Cypress.  An avid and skilled boater with a love of the outdoors, Mr. Davis has worked with Ellison’s Premier Marine Service and Yacht Sales since 2020.

In his role as a Commissioner for the Jupiter Inlet District, he serves as the North Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce representative and the Loxahatchee River Preservation Initiative (LRPI) alternate representative.  He is an active member of both organizations and is focused on maintaining collaborative partnerships that improve the quality of life for residents of northern Palm Beach County.

Mr. Davis is involved with numerous civic and political organizations in Palm Beach County and in his native Michigan.  Since 2017, he has served as the Palm Beach Republican Executive Committee Precinct Committeeman.  Named a Grosse Ile Yacht Club Commodore in 1998, he belongs to the Association of Past Commodores as a member of the International Order of the Blue Gavel.  Mr. Davis is currently serving a term as the North Palm Beach Yacht Club Director (2019-2021). 

Engaged with his alma mater, Mr. Davis was a trustee for the Northern Michigan University Foundation Board from 2012-2017, and served as Chair of the Finance and Investment Committee for 4 years where he was able to leverage his professional expertise to serve the university’s interests.

Mr. Davis holds a BS in Business Administration and Accounting from Northern Michigan University, a CBA Graduate degree from the University of Virginia’s School of Retail Bank Management and has his FINRA Series 27 License as a Financial and Operations Principal.

Mr. Davis has resided in northern Palm Beach County with his wife, Kimberly, and son, William, for six years after relocating to the area from Chicago, Illinois.  Mrs. Davis is a 9th grade teacher at Palm Beach Lakes High School and when William is not focused on 5th grade academic pursuits, he is taking lessons at the Palm Beach Sailing Club.  The family adopted their dog, Piper Laurie, from Furry Friends and love enjoying everything our area has to offer together.
